Junior High Technology Classes:

  • 6th Grade Technology: Online safety, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and creativity software

 

  • 7th Grade Technology: Creating and using databases, online research, and creating effective presentations

 

  • 8th Grade Career Technology: Career research, creating a high school EDP, and career and employability skills

Student Responsibilities:

  • Complete and turn in all assignments on time

  • Bring supplies (pencil, pen, folder) to class each day

  • Be on time to class

  • Follow classroom rules

  • Be responsible for getting missed work in case of absence

  • Listen carefully to instructions

  • Use MiStar to check grades regularly

Students will be given

assignments on a daily basis.

Most assignments will

be completed in class, as they will need to be completed on the computers. However, homework will be assigned occasionally. All assignments will be graded on a point-based system. Students will be notified in advance what each assignment is worth. Overall class grade will be based on points accumulated.

Grading:
Technology Rules:

1. No instant messaging, chat rooms, or emails during class unless it is a specific assignment given by the teacher.

2. No downloading images, games, music, or apps from websites to save on school devices.

3. Student gmail accounts are for school use only.

4. No playing your own CDs or DVDs to listen to during computer use.

5. Always login with your name and password and logout when you are finished using the computer.

6. You may only go to websites that have been approved by your teacher.

7. You may only touch the computer to which you have been assigned.

 

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN THE PERMANENT SUSPENSION OF COMPUTER USAGE RIGHTS AND A SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER GRADE AND CITIZENSHIP IN TECHNOLOGY CLASS.

67 – 63 D

Citizenship Scale:
1 = Outstanding
  • e. g. always on task, never needs redirection
2 = Above Average
  • e. g. regularly on task, rarely needs redirection
3 = Average
  • e. g. sometimes off task, needs some redirection
4 = Below Average
  • e. g. often off task, frequently needs redirection
5 = Unacceptable
  • e. g. continually off task, needs constant redirection
